UGH

I thought I had been lucky with no major side effects to the vaccine........ Oh I was a little tired and a little sore but otherwise thought I was doing ok....

EXCEPT

by yesterday I realized I had been having trouble staying focused on tasks - everything seemed to take so much effort .. and when I did something as simple as making the bed - I was exhausted - absolutely bone weary - and had to lie down.  On Thursday I was aware that I seemed to have moments of dizziness... and was tripping over my feet cause my legs weren't working that well.  I checked the known side effects and didn't find my complaints listed so figured I must have some bug or something........

EXCEPT

I realized last evening that my appetite was back ........ and the headache was gone ... and I had interest in talking and being social. My legs felt strong again and I could walk a straight line without weaving.

SO

I am guessing that I have been recovering from the vaccination... weird as it may seem.  I want to apologize for not commenting on blogs - or commenting with my usual enthusiasm. BUT it would seem I am back!!!

Life is good when the body feels normal again.

Those are all reported size effects of all 4 COVID vaccines, although from popular reports the mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) seem to generate stronger brain fog and fatigue responses. Joint pain and skin rash are two others that tend to occur 7-10 days later. In the US the CDC provides an app where you can report mild and moderate symptoms and it prompts you report 1/day for 10 days, then 1/week until your second vaccination, and so on. Severe symptoms should be reported to your doctor and they will advise on whether to file an adverse event report.

My take take on my side effects (Pfizer) was that if this the reaction the vaccine produced with only a few million particles of the spike protein I am very glad I did not get a full-scale case of COVID19!

    1. so very true Midwest (reaction to a small dose of particles) Sir Steve just remarked to me that better a few side effects that will pass versus Covid! I'm so thankful I got the vaccine and am looking forward to my second dose in August

  5. I haven't had that much to comment on, but I'm happy to know you're back. Those were unusual side effects, but NOTHING about Covid or its symptoms or even these vaccines is normal.

  6. Those side effects don't sound like much fun but if they only last a couple of days, they are probably worth living with to get the long term protection. Thanks for the forewarning. It helps to know what to expect and it does not put me off wanting the vaccine

  7. Welcome back. I suppose the silver lining is that you didn't know you were down for the count till you were able to get back up. It's a blessing it wasn't anything more serious. Be well!

  8. Good to know- though I doubt if notice if B was any foggier! Lol I mean of course due to allergy seaso😉

I just read an article yesterday that women tend to have a stronger reaction to vaccines ( not necessarily Covid ones) than men. Something about having a stronger immune system? If that's true it makes sense as we are equipped to build tiny humans inside of us. Lol.

I've been blah myself as if late- no vaccine required, so happy to hear your fog has lifted! It's not fun not feeling yourself.

  9. Well Morningstar,

thanks for the heads up. Had my Pfizer yesterday. Was fine yesterday for the most part but wondered about the fog I seemed to be in. Sore arm, chills, headache...the expected I guess.

I hope it doesn't last long....although seem to still have the headache and fog today.

  10. I hope it doesn't last long for your sake as well.. I still seem to have a low grade headache very day after lunch.... but I can remember my mom saying - when you are healing from a bug of some sort - the fevers/aches will come back in the afternoon until you are 100 % so I am hoping eventually this headache will just vanish
