I like rules. I live by rules.......rules help keep life orderly and neat and tidy. I don't understand folks who don't follow the rules - or yell and scream over rules. Rules reassure me - and make me feel safe. (yeah I know weird! but we've established I am weird! - grinning )
BUT there are times and things that should NOT be governed by rules. Blogland is one of those things that should not be ruled by rules!!! I didn't know that it was... or that people were trying to set rules for blogging....... until I read Windy's post about rules.. and then this morning PK wrote about rules. When I read Windy's post I literally stomped my foot........ 'who would DARE to tell someone how to write THEIR blog?' it boggled my mind.. and I could imagine myself laying down some rules of my own if someone pulled that sh*t with me!!
As you all know I didn't use to answer comments regularly..... ok ok... rarely. and now I am trying to answer them.... I have no schedule to answer them ... depends on my day... quiet day I sit around waiting for your comments.... busy day you're lucky if I get to them before bedtime! (don't like my schedule - too bad so sad - can you tell I'm feeling feisty today?? ) and if I can't think of anything to say to your comment I won't say anything at all..........
As for the other 'rules' that Windy posted - geez louise! I will write every day if I want to and have the subject matter to write about - OR - I will run out of steam and not post for a couple of days...do I care what you think?? NOPE not at all..
Just so we're clear on Rules .......... I love rules out there in real life... but here on my blog there is only one rule.....................
Hey Morningstar,
ReplyDeleteI am with you. Rules make me feel safe. I know what to do or not do. I can relax.....hmmm....might be a theme in the kink world don't you think?
I am glad you write daily. I miss you when you don't. I love when you comment back but understand that life gets busy and sometimes you can't.
Thing is, it is your blog. If I don't like it, I can not read it. See how simple that was? If I don't like the post, I can even NOT comment. I don't have to say anything negative at all. I can just think, huh...well ok. That's not for me, but if it works for you, enjoy.
Life is good when feisty Morningstar is there!
Hugs

laughing at the 'feisty morningstar' comment - not sure Sir Steve is enamoured with her...
DeleteYeah I read Windy's post and couldn't believe that people would have the cheek!
ReplyDeleteI think it's ok to disagree with what someone may have written and right there you have a choice, to move on and not comment or comment but do so in a manner that isn't condescending or abusive in any way, I don't mind a debate or to be challenged but it's all in how it's done.
I tend to read at times during the day and in the evening comment, the only thing that I personally am not sure about is I'm slowly reading back through posts of those I follow and sometimes I have wanted to comment but haven't liked to as I'm unsure of whether it would be appreciated commenting on an older post.
Otherwise I think it has to be respected that if someone is taking the time to blog, to put themselves out there and let others in, if you can't say anything nice at all then fuck off (please excuse language). I seem to be using fucking a lot lately and not in the good sense :)
Lol! And I personally don't know anyone who doesn't love when someone comments in an old post. For me it makes me feel the topic is still relevant and shows me that people have taken an interest in where we came from not just where we are.
Deleteclaire I so agree with you!! I've had a couple of commenters over the years who have been rude or too self absorbed - they irritated me... and my reaction was either - call them out on their BS - or ignore them completely....my reaction depended on my mood. (I have been called names because of my outspokenness but I don't care - I am who I am!!)
ReplyDeleteAs for commenting on old posts - I don't know about anyone else - but I get notified if someone posts on an old blog entry and sometimes I will answer
Preach! I was most dumbfounded by what happened to Windy - I've been really luck that i've run into very few problems out here with other people. It happens, but it was rare for me. And even then, no one tried to tell me what to write, when to write or how and when to comment. I usually get around to read every day. I like commenting, but sometimes it's just a busy day and I don't and I expect every other blogger does the same thing. Thankfully the blog police have never knocked at my door and I don't expect them.
ReplyDeleteblog police LOL love it !
DeleteI've been fortunate to only have one person be rude to me on my blog- the very same person Windy write about actually.
ReplyDeleteI've had many a person disagree or misinterpret my intent, but that goes with the territory.
I believe that Windy's post and those issues have been buried and that person is no longer around so there currently isn't a real threat of being yourself on your blog and getting chastised for it. Mind you I wasn't aware of all the backroom chatter when it was going on then either! Lol.
willie
willie - trust me - that one person (whomever it was) may be gone but there are always twits in the wings ready to take their place.
DeleteI'm glad you did share Windy and even happier it gave you some closure!!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I sound 'together' I have my days...
I make the rules on my blog and I hope that every other blogger does the same. And if someone don't like that, well they will just have to spank me........Please!
ReplyDeleteHi Morningstar,
ReplyDeleteHere, here, our blogs are our space to share what we want when we want and there are NO rules. I was astounded that some bloggers would deign to tell anyone else how to blog. I love your comments and the replies above.
Fortunately, I have never had anyone be rude to me on my blog and the only 'advice' I have received is blog more! LoL
Hugs

I hear you. There is one blogger in particular who took it upon him or herself to correct me when I used the wrong capitalization for something. He or she has also written whole posts criticizing my blog posts. Too bad. It's my blog and I'll post what I want. If he or she doesn't like it, don't visit me.
ReplyDeleteKeep on doing it your way!
Hugs,
Hermione
