Wrong

I thought I had this whole weight thing figured out --
WRONG!

I thought I had the right balance - between exercise and food - to, at the very least, maintain my weight --
WRONG!

I weighed myself yesterday morning -- despite doing what everyone wants me to do (eating at least 1200 calories a day ) and exercising moderately I have put on over 3 pounds !!!!

I could feel (still feel) the knots in my stomach -- the disappointment in myself -- the shame -- the fear -- all of it piling up so high I couldn't see over the top.

And now I don't know what to do -- and it scares me

Yesterday was a bad bad day..........

  1. I am by no means an expert, but just what works for me.

1200 might not be enough calories if you are exercising.

You could be building more muscle through that exercise which weighs more than fat.

Try not to focus on the 'scale' but how your clothes fit and the inches on your body.

I weigh 10 lbs more than ever in my life, but am in a smaller size then before, because I have built muscle and toned my body.

I also used to eat 1200-1500 calories daily but now am up to 1800 (all good calories, not any junk) and I again am a smaller size because of it.

I realize this might not be your issue and you might talk to a nutritionist as that really helped balance me based on my activity level and breakdown of Carbs/Proteins/Fats to eat daily.

  2. You are so much MORE than the number on a scale--please try not to fixate on it.
