Yup yuppers YES!! Christmas came early for me yesterday.
W took me into town and bought me my Christmas present......it was the sort of present I HAD to be there for.....
I was like a little kid in the car - I couldn't sit still - I had butterflies - and yet I kept telling myself not to get too excited 'cause it might not work out - something might happen to dash my dreams......
BUT nothing bad happened........
AND
I got my Christmas present................
Yup that's right!! a brand spanking new camera - with more bells and whistles than I ever imagined possible for one lil camera!!
AND it's RED - my most favourite colour in the whole wide world!! (and now at family events where we all have very similar cameras, when I put mine down I will know which is mine!!)
I spent most of last night reading the manual - trying some of the tricks - taking pics outside without a tripod!! It has an anti-shake button which allows me more versatility in picture taking than ever before!!!
Here are just a few examples ............
W's Christmas travel mug.............
Same mug with an arty farty twist
Our Christmas tree.............
Some of my favourite ornaments...........
Outside decorations........
and the day ended with "elfie" sitting on the bed on my pillow holding a Christmas card..... it wasn't the card that made me choke up - it was what was written on it....
on the envelope it said "Littleone" and inside W signed it "Sir" - a huge reminder that despite things "looking" very different around here - I am still His "littleone" and He is still my "Sir"
When I saw the camera all I could say was "Wow". But most of all I loved what you shared from the card W gave you. I wish you all the best!
ReplyDeleteThat is so brilliant. I hope his means more wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteThis wasn't the main present I had in mind....
ReplyDeleteW
Dear Morningstar, I kept your outside decorations from last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you can rejoice about "doing a fair amount of entertaining", you sound like a little girl.
Like all previous years, we'll entertain no one, we don't have any friends anymore (they decided years ago we were too old for them) and the children won't come either. I'm not even sad anymore about that, but I remember when it was different. Ah well...
ordalie - I am sorry your friends find you too old - we're very lucky that our friends don't notice the age difference (at least not yet)
ReplyDeleteAs for my kids - we'll see them separately before Christmas for a few hours...... shrug.. maybe next year will be different - BUT this year - it is what we all need.
