LOL - love our lifestyle - Day

Welcome to LOL (love our lifestyle) Day....... 

I have been working on this post for over a week (mostly in my head)..... cause my lifestyle may look a little different from your lifestyle...... and certainly what I have today is a far cry from what I had 30+ years ago when I actively entered the scene.

So today's post is going to be broken up into  "Then" and "Now" ....... 

 When I first entered the scene - it was mostly private ..... by invite only....... secret handshakes and back alleys.  It was exciting........

There was a dress code - strict behaviour rules - and rituals that made it all that much more heady. 

Inside the privacy of the clubs there was a huge element of exhibitionism......literally being on display... both Dom and sub alike.  BUT there was never total nudity and definitely NO sex.  My 'uniform' for the clubs was usually a corset....... thigh high stockings.. and thongs.  I learned very quickly that once laced into a corset you didn't slouch... you didn't sit sprawled - you 'perched' ... and oh dear lord you didn't EAT. 

The Doms were always dressed entirely in black and often times in leathers.. leather pants, leather coats and leather boots.

There were usually numerous bits of equipment to use - from spanking benches to St Andrew Crosses to other forms of torture.  My favourite piece of equipment was the St Andrew cross.... and most weekends would find me up on a cross getting my ass whooped....feeding the masochist

There weren't crowds and crowds of people in those days...... mostly serious participants and 24/7 couples.  About 10 years ago things started changing..... BDSM clubs started opening around town...... they weren't private and more and more 'players' started to attend.  Then it really started to go downhill when sex was allowed even encouraged (in some clubs).   There was a saying among the old timers .. that S/m had a new meaning - it now meant "stand and model".  The 'pretty people' dressed in expensive leathers and silks and satins could be found lounging around on the equipment - posing for photo shoots.  We started looking for more private events again....... places where we could play without 'scaring' the players.   

 It seemed the glory days of BDSM had waned. 

 

With Sir Steve - the lifestyle looks a whole lot different.  I have been thinking about how it looks now....... I still 'serve' (which soothes my soul) BUT it isn't unthinkable for Sir Steve to come and lend a hand - be it making dinner or baking or shopping.  We're a team...... no absolute clear division of top and bottom.  And I rather like that.  (though it took me a long while to get used to it)  

There are little touches of BDSM in our life...... Sir Steve can 'grope' my breasts whenever the spirit moves him and I'm not to prevent him from doing so.... though if I do .. it's not a punishable offence - more an opportunity for more slaps and tickles and laughter.   And  my favourite....... in the morning when he leaves for work..... he bends over to kiss me goodbye and he thrusts his hand between my legs and teases me... until I am wiggling to get away......... 

There are 'painful' moments in our adult time....... definitely pussy torture and breath play occasionally - and of course knife play from time to time. 

Our lifestyle has changed drastically from 'before'...... do I miss the before?? yeah of course I do - well a small part of me misses it... I'm glad I got to participate/live the before.... but living in the past and moaning about how everything has changed takes the sparkle off the 'now'.......... and I do love the sparkle of the here and now

I may not have the socialization in real time with like minded folks as we did before - BUT I do still have The Continued Journey and all you folks who drop by to visit.

I did a quick check this morning - it seems I have been participating in LOL days since 2011 !!  (had a couple of years off somewhere in the middle - but still....)

For those of you new to this concept........... LOL stands for...

Love          Our           Lurkers 

Lurkers are not as ominous as it sounds - Lurkers are folks who pop by the blogs - read and quietly slip away.  You have a day all to yourself (well 2 days actually)  - LOL day - to honour you and to try and encourage you to leave a little comment - even just a "HI" ... you do not need to come fully out of the shadows - you can post anonymously.

This Friday and Saturday are LOL days....... mark your calendars ......... and come out and say "HI" on your special day !!!

LOL Day 2

So here we are on LOL Day #2......... the LOL surprise balls are opening...... and ya all only got today to step up and leave a comment........ come on....... don't you want to open that LOL surprise?? 

Interesting little fact......... on yesterday's post about LOL dolls and LOL day..... Windy left a comment saying she hadn't come across LOL dolls but Dammit Dolls were a big thing.   Well if you have read here at all - ever - you know my curiosity can get the better of me. 

So last night after the lil one was put to bed and another crisis with 'the mother' was averted ..... I decided to look up 'Dammit Dolls' (cause I kinda wished I had one). 
Here's what I found............

SURPRISE!!

Have any of you come across LOL dolls??? You might have if you have younger children...... I know we had nothing like them when my girls were small -- 

SURPRISE !!!   I am learning all about them now I have the lil one in my life.

It struck me last night how appropriate they are for today's post........ LOL - Love our Lurkers and LOL hermetically sealed SURPRISES!

For the next 48 hours we can peel back all the wrapping on our LOL balls and reveal a little bit about ourselves........ 

SURPRISE!  you don't actually have to tell me anything about yourself -- but a lil "hi" would be nice in the comment section.......

my doctor was able to fit me in yesterday afternoon - I have a 'bug' - geeeeeee who knew?!  BUT he did give me prescription nose drops and antibiotics and hopefully I will start being my cheeky self soon.............

next week is the annual LOL day -- well days -- on Thursday and Friday.  I have always participated in LOL days and this year will be no different ....... pencil the date in and come visit ...........

When I wrote my 2 blog entries for LOL days I really thought my readers/quiet visitors would roll their eyes and be put off leaving a comment....... the games seemed a little silly -- but then -- if you know me -- you'd know I'm a whole lot silly (cheeky grin)

 On the language challenge I had Gaelic, Spanish, French, German, Hungarian, Japanese, Maori  -- AND -- one very clever commenter wrote in pig latin!  I had no idea what language it was (when I read it) so went for the easy peasy translator -- which identified the language as English!!  I shook my head -- English??!!  Then I read the words and realized 'pig latin'... very clever!!!

On the second challenge -- where are you from -- there were no real surprises -- lots from Canada ... and the States.... Australia, New Zealand and the UK. The world really is quite small thanks to the internet.

I also would like to thank Hermoine for once again hosting/encouraging us bloggers to participate in the LOL days.... well done Hermoine!!

It was a busy weekend of LOL'ing......... but Sir Steve and I managed to find some time for each other...... but more on that tomorrow I think.
 

Let's Play the LOL game (part 2)

I don't know about you -- but when I go round blogland and read the blogs I wonder where they live...... and from their words I create a whole world for them.... for example - if I think they are in Britain I picture a little thatched roof cottage and big gardens. (silly eh?)

When my lurkers come to read here I wonder where they are from....... maybe across the sea -- more likely from the States (I know I have a large number of readers from the States) BUT maybe they live around the corner....... or in the next city -- or down the highway from me....... OR across the ocean.

So today I am hoping some of you lurkers will leave a country of origin.  You don't have to leave any details (like city or street -- dear god NO!!)  just your country..... It would be fun to see how international my readership is........... wouldn't you like to know where some of the readers/lurkers come from?? or am I the only one?

Let me start............ I am from Canada......... from Ontario to be exact :)  Your turn!

Today's the day.................. the start of LOL day XIII 

the purpose of the two days (today and tomorrow) is to try and encourage our lurkers - those that come by to read but never leave a comment - to come out of the shadows and leave a little message.

First thing my lurkers need to know is I have removed moderation for these two days AND you can comment without a google account -- or without using your google account -- and comment as 'Anonymous" 

Second thing dear lurkers is....... we're gonna play a little game over the next two days... Today is 'languages'.  Why not comment in a second language ?? OR your first language if you want (grinning)

Gimmicks........

How many of you have seen / heard of the latest craze in toys called LOL dolls.  The lil one got some for her birthday.  Basically they are dolls in an ball - wrapped in layers of vacuum packed plastic........ just SO much fun to try and open!!!

This morning I was thinking LOL dolls are a little bit like our "LOL days" here in blogland.  It is the process of trying to unwrap the layers of vacuum sealed plastic off our quiet lurkers....... and see if we can coax a few to come out and say 'hello'. 

Tomorrow is the start of LOL Days organised and monitored by Hermione over on Hermione's Heart.  I think I'm gonna play a little game for the two days and hope I can entice my LOL readers out to play..........
