It's Over

Well my birthday celebrations are finally over ......... Saturday eldest daughter and SIL came down to celebrate.  We had piles of Chinese Food - and lots of laughter - and of course more Birthday Cake!!!

Eldest daughter remembered that once ages ago - I said I had pandora jewelry envy - youngest daughter has the pandora charm bracelet.  Lo and behold - eldest daughter and SIL gave me my very own pandora charm bracelet.  The charm she added is a heart with an infinity symbol and the words "love you mom" engraved on the side.

My son in law - knowing my addiction to Reese's pieces (without peanuts!) gave me a huge bag of them........

and a box of Milk Duds

It was a wonderful end to a week of birthday celebrations

Spoiled

I'm very spoiled....... at noon yesterday the doorbell rang - dear lord chaos broke out - dog barking me on the phone with Sir Steve trying to open the door civilly and block the dog.  I received flowers - gorgeous flowers from Sir Steve..............

Then at dinner time Sir Steve had another 'party' for me....... this time with the lil one....
I have been wanting a large porch lantern to turn into a decoration for Christmas but just couldn't rationalize spending that much money on a whim.  Welllllllllllll the lil one gave me 'candles' that look like birch bark - they are actually battery operated - come with a remote to turn them on and off and set the time they will 'burn' for.

AND

Sir Steve gave me my lantern - not one but TWO!!  one a wee bit smaller than the other.

AND

of course the whole party was topped off with CAKE!  more cake.

(definitely next week I can diet)

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend celebrating Sir Steve's birthday for starters.... for some reason we always seem to land up having at least 2 birthday celebrations in our family.... one the day of the birthday with immediate family - then there always seems to be at least a 2nd celebration on the weekend with the extended family.

It was no different for Sir Steve.  We had a small celebration on Wednesday - his actual birthday.... then Saturday his daughter and granddaughter and SIL came to visit us and celebrate again!  His granddaughter is such a cutie!!!  She's 20 months and we haven't seen her (thanks to Covid) since last January!!  Our lil one entertained her baby cousin with dancing ... blowing bubbles... peek a boo games !!  It did my heart good to watch them.

Then on Sunday my eldest daughter and sIL took us out for dinner at a wonderful restaurant with a patio on the water for Sir Steve's birthday!

It's not very big - doesn't take reservations and of course is at 50% capacity.  We were worried about long waits to eat on the patio....... but as luck would have it we didn't have to wait at all!!  and had a delightful fish dinner... (I had clams !!  and even managed to eat almost all of my dinner!! YAY!)

Sir Steve enjoyed all the birthday celebrations.......... and I was glad we could all make this year's birthday a little special for him.  (his dad's birthday would have been this coming Wednesday - so am not expecting a terribly good week for him... so being able to have some laughs.... good food and wonderful company this weekend was important)

Covid Birthday Parties

Here's a little known fact about me - I HATE birthday parties -- well birthday parties for me.  I hate being the center of attention.

SO

Covid made my birthday a wonderful celebration.  There was no way that Sir Steve could throw a big celebration - just eldest daughter and SIL. (though I do think youngest could have come down......... but she didn't)

We have birthday traditions.......... like birthday cakes for me HAVE to have roses on top... (having my birthday this close to halloween meant that as a kid my mom god bless her would always make a halloween themed cake)....  Chinese food is the birthday dinner (been that way for... mmmmm... must be 30 years or so).

Because the lil one goes to her mother on weekends - Sir Steve arranged a small birthday celebration on Thursday night so she could take part.

She made me a sweet card and a couple of gifts with her 3D pen

Then Saturday was the main celebration - with the Chinese food and gifts and family.

Spankedhortic said in his comment that he hoped I got some birthday spanks.  (le sigh) unfortunately NO............ my mouth is not healing - and despite antibiotics it is still swollen and now I have bone bits pushing out of the gums.  I see the dentist again this morning.......... colour me discouraged.......... V E R Y !

Life is good though - when pandemics make your birthday perfect!

Summer's Over

We moved back to the city yesterday......... OH we'll still be going up for weekends until the end of September BUT Fall is here and time to be in the city.   AND I was SO ready to come back to the city  and get into routine.... we've been in the country for 4 months!! 4 months since we slept in our bed... 4 months since I cooked in my big kitchen.... 4 months of peace and quiet and isolation.  (and of course we move back to the city and the covid numbers are creeping back up again!!)

We ended the summer with a birthday party for the lil one.  She turns 8 this week!!  GOD!!! I entered her life when she was 4 ......... she has really grown up in those 4 years.  No kiddies party this year (first time in 4 years) and I wanted to make it as special as humanly possible considering the restraints on parties.  Eldest daughter and SIL came for hamburgers and hotdogs for supper...... and for cake we invited a friend who is in our 'bubble' in the country.  We had cake ............ lots and lots of cake!!

and sparklers by the fire.........

and of course presents galore!! She declared ' it was the BEST party EVER!'

On Sunday Sir Steve drove her into town and handed her off to her mother.. she'll be back next Monday morning in time to start online school.

I - well I will be doing laundry (piles of it) and cleaning and organising the house for the winter hibernation........

Life is good when the holidays are over and routines resume.........

The 3 Birthday Weekend

What a weekend we had........ I managed to produce 3 Birthdays!!!!

Birthday #1

was at my youngest daughter's -- the real surprise one...... AND I am pleased to say we got him we really did!!  Youngest daughter and husband planned an oriental birthday dinner that was to die for -- damn it was good.......

Birthday #2

was Sunday with Sir Steve's parents. They were here Sunday and Monday.  It was a busy time for me cooking mostly -- but visiting too.....

Birthday #3 was on Monday --

his mother brought down a cake for Sir Steve and Sir Steve's father (his birthday is this coming Sunday) it would have been nice if she had told me -- it would have taken some of the pressure of having 2 cakes off my shoulder -- but then she doesn't confer with me about much....... le sigh.

Yesterday the lil one and I went to town to do the groceries and laundry - and last night I died........ too many people too much stuff going on I was done like dinner!!

Needless to say with all that partying and people Sir Steve and I had no alone time... double big sigh........ such is vanilla life......... BUT he had a good weekend with family and friends and that's what really counts!!

SURPRISE !!

Tomorrow is Sir Steve's birthday.  Youngest daughter - a few weeks ago - invited all of us to her place for a pool party and barbecue.  Secretly I contacted her and the eldest daughter to plan a mini surprise birthday party for Sir Steve.

Then his parents said they wanted to come visit for his birthday....... le sigh....... they wanted to come on Saturday -- but have agreed to come tomorrow.  So I got to plan 2 birthdays for Sir Steve .......... how could I not??? if I wanted to keep today's party a surprise.

So I have ordered 2 cakes -- one big one with dragons for today and a smaller one with a football theme for Sunday.  The lil one is so excited for these birthday parties....... she made her dad (with my help) a plaque that says "You Rock" from salt dough and small rocks from the road outside our trailer....... we baked it and sealed it and it's all wrapped up for Daddy.  I bought him a samurai that he's had his eye on -- and being the sneaky conniving woman I am I had it sent to youngest daughter's house!!

Life is good when you can celebrate with laughter love and family !

Warm Fuzzies

It's Monday and all the birthday celebrations have come to an end......  I am filled with lovely warm fuzzies.

I am feeling very spoiled and very very loved --
from the surprise engagement a week before my birthday

to the flowers and birthday cake on the actual day

to my girls and their husbands coming down for dinner with us on Saturday -- and bringing gifts for their old mom - bath pampering products and a book "All the Ever Afters" and cards that made me laugh.......

to the birthday spanks (AND Sir Steve actually count them out!)  and wonderful earth shattering sex and orgasms last night.

I have to say this year's birthday was probably the best one in many years!

Life is good when you are spoiled and loved.

Holiday......

welllllll sort of..........

The lil one has a PA day today (day off school) so she has gone to her mother's a day early -- which means I didn't have to get up before the sun today to get her ready for school.  Thus it feels like a holiday !!

Which doesn't mean I am gonna sit on the couch and eat bon bons all day.... My new cell phone has a couple of glitches so a quick visit to the shop is on the 'to do list' today...... and sprucing up the house ........ because the birthday celebrations continue........ Tomorrow my girls are coming down for a dinner celebration at a local restaurant..... and hopefully they will stop by the house for some coffee after......

I'm really looking forward to seeing them both........ I miss my eldest daughter - after a summer of seeing her and her husband every weekend means I find I am missing her...
and when we go to visit the youngest daughter the house is always full of people... loud noisy people and I don't really get any quality time with her.... so a few hours with her to catch up will be very nice.  Sir Steve started this tradition last year ... where only MY family gets invited to MY birthday -- what a great tradition!!

Update on yesterday.....

I met a friend for a birthday lunch and we spent 2 hours catching up on news...... while we enjoyed a wonderful lunch......

Then Sir Steve came home with an armful of flowers for me..............

AND a birthday cake!!  As he said "it's not a birthday without cake!"

This is turning out to be the BEST birthday ever!

Getting Better All the Time

 HEALTH REPORTS:

I am slowly improving...... the doctor had told me my oxygen levels were pretty low and recommended rest -- lots of fluids -- using the pump he gave me and taking my antibiotics.

That was my plan Tuesday rest and more rest ......... until Sir Steve came limping in the door just before noon announcing he had to go to emergency cause his knee was DONE!  So I pulled on some clothes and loaded him in the car and off we went to emerg where we spent 6 hours doing xrays -- blood tests -- his being poked and prodded and finally having 60ccs of fluid drained from under his knee cap.

He was sent home with some pretty strong pain killers and told to rest the knee until the pain subsides.  They think it is gout -- the tests on the fluid will confirm that.

SOCIAL REPORT:

On the brighter side of things -- on Saturday Sir Steve had arranged for both my girls and their husbands to come and visit -- go out for dinner and then back here for coffee and cake to celebrate my birthday.  It was really good to visit with them all -- with no extended family !!  Adult time is always good!  Unfortunately I was feeling like crap and didn't get to really enjoy the wonderful Thai dinner -- but I DID enjoy the birthday cake my youngest daughter made me............

There's always room for cake right??

Tuesday night I went to bed feeling yucky -- and truthfully not having a whole lot of faith that Sir Steve would remember that my actual birthday was the next day - Wednesday.

Wednesday morning he got up and got the lil one off to school then went off to pick up his pay cheque.  When he got home with a French Vanilla latte and an apple fritter donut for me -- roses and orchids and birthday card -  I was close to falling apart ... he asked me what was wrong and I said -- tearfully -- 'all I really wanted was a happy birthday hug and kiss'. I thought you had forgotten today was my birthday !
Poor Sir Steve -- he had things all planned out in his head except for the small detail of the hug and kiss.....

Then when the lil one got home from school -- she and her dad went out to buy me a feast of Chinese food for dinner AND another birthday cake!!! Another surprise!!!

My birthday turned out better than I had hoped -- even without the early morning hug and kiss -- AND best of all -- the Chinese food tasted soooooo good -- probably the first meal I have really tasted and enjoyed since before Thanksgiving !!

Today we are both resting and following doctors' orders and I am hoping (dear god I am hoping!!)  that by the weekend we will both be well enough to enjoy some very kinky play and sex..... it's been a month at least since we last had any 'adult time' .....

Life is getting better and better -- and that's a very good thing!
