FFF

A while back Fondler started a 'Fit for Friday' for the blogging community. (You can click HERE to read more)   I have been their cheerleader -- sitting on the side lines being lazy.

Then I noticed that my jeans were fitting a little tight -- and then Sir Steve announced we would be going to a play party at the end of March and I started to think about what I would wear.  I honestly didn't think my 'skinny' corset would fit.  So I took a big breath and got on the scales.  I have put on 20 pounds!!  in a year.  That was it!  Time to climb back on the healthy eating wagon.

Three years ago (give or take) when I started to diet -- my doctor suggested that I walk about 10,000 steps a day -- and track my calories.  I HATE tracking calories.  I went looking and found an app -- a super duper app  for calories.  I have it on my phone and on my computer.  I can scan the bar code on foods and it tells me how much I should eat ..... and automatically enters the calories.  It keeps a running total of calories..... and I can see easily how many calories I have left to eat at dinner time.   AND it comes with it's own 'cheering' section.  At the end of the day it says "if you continue to eat like today in 5 weeks you will weigh...... " that is very encouraging for me.

I have had a small health issue for the last couple of weeks or so -- and have had no energy for walking...... but I did stick to the food app -- and on Wednesday I weighed myself and lo and behold I am down 4.1 pounds!!!

Spring is just around the corner -- and I am hopefully handling the health issue so my energy levels are on the rise again.  So my goal is to get out walking and strive for 10,000 steps a day.  Oh I also have a Fitbit to track my steps and exercise which helped me keep on track before.  (I have promised myself I will NOT get as obsessed over the steps or weight loss like I did the last time)

On a completely different note --

Today is the birthday of my all time favourite kid's author -- Dr. Seuss.

One of my favourite quotes from him.......................

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

  1. Glad you're going from cheerleader to challenger! While probably still cheerleading. I find this challenge really does motivate me, hope it does for you, too.

  2. I think being mindful is WAY healthier than being obsessed. I find that just keeping myself in a balanced / positive mental state makes it a lot easier to stick to my health plans. GOOD LUCK!

  3. Good to have you onboard with our FFF. We appreciated your cheerleading now to get into it with the rest of us. Well done on already losing 4.1 lbs. What app are you using if you don't mind sharing? I don't usually count calories just slog along trying to eat healthy foods.
