B12

If you remember a few weeks back I confessed I was feeling like crap and that I thought it was a B12 deficiency...... and said I would let you know if my diagnosis was right..... (based on past experience)

Well I am here to say - YUP!  I am feeling better.  I have found my words again - and when I can't think of a word I don't panic....... I am not nearly as tired - and most of my body aches have disappeared.  I am not AS anxious as I was - though am still stressed and get anxious - but I'm putting that down to the move and all the pressures that come with a move.

I am not going to stop my B12 supplements again..... not gonna take mega doses BUT will take a small supplement every day - I don't want to go through that again!

A week ago Sir Steve had some tests done ...... and today we are going to get the results.  I am hoping they have a solution ......... an easy one ya know.  I just don't think we can handle anything more serious right now.............

Weigh In

Well - it's not exactly 'redecorating' but in a sense it is.......... it's time to make this new house OUR home.... put our imprint on it...

And decorating is something I love!! It's the best part of moving to a new place.... I don't know how many times I have placed furniture ... hung pictures... added little decorative touches (in my head) to our new place.

Quite by accident I discovered what has been wrong in our living room here - we had chocolate brown curtains in the windows (curtains I have had for at least 10 - 15 years )  BUT took them down to wash them in preparation for our move and hung cream coloured curtains in the interim.  WOW!  Suddenly our living room was brighter and more welcoming (in my opinion) Sir Steve and I decided - instead of hanging the chocolate brown curtains in the new house - we'd buy some new ones... We decided on a cream/white background with some green or brown pattern.

This is what we bought...............

So we thought we'd move the chocolate brown curtains upstairs to our bedroom.  BUT - they would be too big for our windows - and would - in my opinion - be too formal? too stuffy?? and most definitely too long!   Sir Steve and I discussed what colour would work........ he told me to study our duvet and come up with a colour to go with it..............

Yeah but .. yeah but....

So I went shopping (on amazon - my very best friend) for black out curtains. for 3 identically sized windows)   I looked for green curtains... I looked for beige curtains... I found grey curtains.  Why grey? cause I thought green would limit the colours we could paint the room...... and green wouldn't really go with our winter duvet....

BUT then - I found these............ (and yes they are blackout / sound deadening curtains)

and I am torn........ They are so different!  and would look (maybe) like pictures on the wall.

The grey ones are so.......... I don't know ... conservative?? I want this house to have some WOW factors.  and remember our bedroom is upstairs - our sanctuary

I am going to ask Sir Steve when he gets home tonite........ but I would LOVE your opinions?  What would you pick for the bedroom - grey curtains (or another colour) or the winter tree curtains???

Seriously - what would you hang in the bedroom??
OH and if it will help - here's two pictures of the bedroom - two different angles.

Never too Old to Learn......

I love my duvets........... LOVE THEM!  Except when I have to change
them ....... Does anyone else have a duvet?? Anyone else just about kill themselves trying to change it??? For those that have no idea what I am talking about - picture changing a pillow case ...... except the pillow is the size of a queen sized bed......... somehow you have to stuff this HUGE pillow into this pillow case ...stuff it in and try and get it smoothed out ... corners in the corners and no lumps..... It just about kills me!!  and I dread it!!

This morning I was going to change our duvet cover.  Sir Steve sorta kinda glared at me when he was leaving and said " do NOT try and change it yourself we'll do it when I get home".   BUT I'm kinda stubborn.  and besides he has enough to take care of tonite - driving the lil one to dance class - running by the new house to organize the garbage and get it out... so yeah you know I'm gonna do this small/HUGE job myself!

As I was sweating and struggling trying to get the top of this "pillow" into the top of the cover........ I had an EUREKA ! moment.  There HAS to be a better way - let's google it.   It turns out I am not the first person who can't figure out how to change a duvet cover easily.

And so I watched this video - then went and changed the duvet cover with a minimum of sweating and swearing........ EUREKA!!!

For your viewing pleasure - here's the duvet all changed and looking pretty darn good!

AND I have an update on the lil one's ice sun catcher........

We tried again yesterday......... but I think because we tried to patch the original one a piece broke off......... BUT the lil one still thought it was good enough to add a ribbon to and hang it outside.  She was thrilled with it....... sometimes I forget kids don't always expect 100% perfection.

We do have plans to try again (probably next winter cause I have hopes that by the time we are moved into the new house it will be warming up and not a good time to try ice sun catchers) but next time use tin foil plates so we can peel the form away from the ice and selkie suggested using hot water so the ice isn't so cloudy.

What Sells.........

First let me say - this post is my opinion - and your mileage may vary........

                                                         OR / AND

When I started blogging some 17 years ago I was excited.... no more than excited I was in a frenzy of sorts.  I had found an outlet to talk about my kinks without any shame.  I think most of you can identify with that feeling......... being able to finally open up about your kinks and actually talk about them - in detail.  WOW what fun !!  how freeing it felt...... there was somewhere I could talk about the taboo.  Being brought up the way I was where sex was a 4 letter word and was never discussed - in fact nothing personal was EVER discussed with friends or family - never mind publicly - having a place I could open up was the best feeling EVER!

I posted in detail about my kink life - from serving naked to being chained in bed to being spanked till I was black and blue..... I posted about sex ... every gruesome detail.  AND I couldn't believe my numbers on my blog...  especially on Monday when I would post about the play parties from the weekend complete with pictures of the marks on my naked body. They were HIGH........ I was thrilled - people wanted to hear about my kinky life.

I'm not sure at what point I started to feel grungy - but it happened.  I would write the words but then in my mind's eye I would see the wankers reading and (excuse my language) jerking off to what they read.  EWWWWWWWWW that's not who I was!!  I didn't want to write porn! (and when I stopped writing in detail guess what? my numbers fell off)

Then the relationship I was in - long term ... like over 10 years long term... started to fall apart.  It got pretty dark ........ and painful....... and dangerous to my mental health.  The BDSM community I was involved with stepped in (I've written about this before) ... they got me out .. and safely tucked away in a high security apartment building.  BUT the drama with "him" didn't stop...... and I wrote non-stop about it ........ cause I was scared.. and I needed an outlet.... (and guess what happened? my numbers went way back up again! It would seem sex sells and so does drama/ abuse)

AND then I decided for my sanity - for my well being - I had to move yet again.  No one except my dearest friends/family knew where I was moving to... or when.. or anything at all about my move.  And when I wrote I wrote about my life - my everyday life.  Cause truthfully - the kink side of my life was only a few hours a week  - the rest of the time I was teaching ... working with my special kiddies.  I was paying bills and cleaning and cooking and living.  Nothing for the wankers - nothing for those who craved someone else's drama.  It was just me - plain old me.

And my numbers?? they levelled off.  Now there are no massive peaks and no lowest valleys per say... each day my numbers are pretty consistent.  AND I don't really care.  I honestly don't!

The people who drop by - drop by cause they're interested in what I write - doesn't matter what.......... from serious to humorous to kink to dreams to whatever moves me that day.

When I say numbers don't matter to me I guess what I mean is - I'm not writing to draw people in.... I'm not writing / selling sex or drama.  I really am writing for me (99% of the time) and yeah I am sharing with like minded folks - who it turns out - are quite happy to just read about our mundane life.  Yesterday I had a couple of comments about how folks were happy to see "peaks of our new home" ......... and I mentioned how I used to do a "home corners" post every once in awhile and how I was thinking of resurrecting that theme again...

Maybe what all this is is simply the evolution of a kinky blog... a lot of the original kink blogs /hard core kink blogs have disappeared.  Why?? well maybe cause one just can't keep up the intensity day after day?? I'm not sure.... I just know that what you read here is my life......... nothing more nothing less. I'm not gonna scold anyone who drops by here and doesn't comment..... shrug... it's just not important to me.  I have my faithful readers who leave me comments and share with me ... they make my day to be honest.  If Roz or Prefectdt or Boo or Baker or Pk didn't show up for a few days... I would watch for them - and yes I'll admit it I would fuss cause that's who I am.

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I'm sure this topic will come up again........

and again............

and again............

But for now I'm done talking about it.

Working Weekend

What a weekend!!!

Our plan was to move the shelves (huge shelves) that Sir Steve had built in our basement to store our extras - like seasonal decorations.  We aren't leaving one thing in this house that we paid for/built.  Sir Steve asked his boss last week if he could borrow the shop truck to move the big stuff (wood for the shelves and the new wardrobe we bought for the lil one's room)   One of the guys who works with Sir Steve in the office volunteered to come and help with his truck!!  This is a single guy and we couldn't believe he would get up early on Saturday to help us!!   But help he did !! So it took one trip to the new house and we got everything we needed moved bright and early Saturday morning.

Sooooooooo - on Saturday Sir Steve hung curtains in the downstairs windows... and built the wardrobe for the lil one's room.

Sir Steve building the wardrobe - see the curtains ?? they accentuate her rug which is black/white and grey.

and here it is finished.

My job was to oil the wood cabinets in the kitchen.  They are real wood (dated yes - but real wood!!) and I don't think anyone had done anything to them in years!!

We have been bringing the dog along - to try and get her used to the new house.  She gets so excited when we are packing the cars ...... but when we get to the new house she wanders around whining...... le sigh.  She's so confused!  Sir Steve did buy her a new big bed for the new big house.  She finally settled down - for short periods before she got up and wandered around whining again....... hopefully when we get everything moved in and are actually living there she'll settle down.  She doesn't understand 'moving'.

On Sunday we were back at the house.  This time we moved all our summer clothes. AND we had bought a temporary vestibule to put up on the back deck because there's no protection from the weather - and we smoke outside.  It took most of the morning to get it assembled.  What a job!!  But well worth it - considering our winters

AND that's what we did this weekend (fun eh?? le sigh)
