Christmas is 3 days away........... 3 days! I just haven't been feeling it ya know?? Christmas is usually my happy place...... from November till January 2nd or so. Not so much this year. And I can't blame it on Covid....... There just hasn't been time this year to feel the magic filling my soul. It hasn't felt like there's a whole lot of magic this year.
The nice thing about having a lil one in the house is that even though I haven't felt the magic you gotta keep the magic alive for her ya know? We've had our Christmas Adventures... from Holiday lights to Christmas movies to whispered secrets... to video calls with Santa!
This morning I was awake early - there wasn't any need to be up so early - Sir Steve is finally on Christmas holidays for two weeks... the lil one has been on Christmas break since last Friday.......... but I was awake. I went outside on the front deck ....... it was still dark.... and quiet. I stood there and felt the first glimmer of Christmas excitement... the work is virtually done... the presents are wrapped.. the food is baked.. and there was this slight flutter of excitement........
Here's hoping the magic of Christmas grows quickly in the next 3 days.....
Hi Morningstar, you go to amazing lengths to make this time special and magical for your family. You probably simply don't have time to feel the excitement! Now that most of the work is done I hope the feeling builds more and more for you.
ReplyDeleteChristmas for me is more just a time of stress. There is no excitement or magic to it now days.

Roz
awwwwww Roz that is sad... do you have grandchildren?? wait wait! I have 3 and their grown now - so yay forget that (grinning)
DeleteHi Morningstar,
ReplyDeleteI totally understand. I have no "spirit of Christmas magic" ANYWHERE.
Faking it isn't working either. Any chance you want to send some of this morning over here?
Hugs
Boo
Boo I just broke the #1 rule I have had for years concerning Christmas. the rule is "DO NOT GO NEAR THE STORES THE WEEK OF CHRISTMAS"..... le sigh. I went out to pick up some milk and staples........ GAH.... came home mumbling "bah humbug"....
DeleteIt comes when it comes and I'm glad it came. I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping too PK - we're scheduled to go up to eldest daughter's on Christmas day to spend a couple of days with them. I am looking forward to THAT - a couple of days of not having to cook a meal...... or really think about anything.
DeleteI will blow some fairy dust over, as soon as I have found a fairy to spank it out of :)
ReplyDeletePrefectdt
(grinning) I'd love to see you spanking a fairy ....
DeleteYou know I thought of you when I wrote this - cause we at least have family to celebrate with - my problems seem trivial compared to the many folks who won't get to see family this Christmas
