Saturday was a magical day - from start to finish...........
It began mid morning when the grandkids arrived to help decorate granny's house......
We decorated and decorated some more.... the baby helped by taking down and packing away every ball, decoration, bit of greenery we put up (he obviously hasn't grasped the concept yet - cheeky grin)
Even those magical Christmas trees I told you about on Saturday morning worked - ok ok so they weren't AS perfect as the picture I found........but the kids were impressed!!!
For lunch we had cheesies - cheese and bacon sandwiches - chocolate milk - Xmas cookies and Yule log............
The kids played with my notebook and my e-reader........... and we played outside in the cold sunshine climbing rocks and running..........
But the two very best parts of my day were 1) when W surprised me by showing up and helping out - even taking me out for dinner once the kids were gone and the mess tidied up.............. and 2) hearing Pigpen announce to his mom
"This was the most AWESOME-EST day ever in my WHOLE life !!"
That's real magic !!
Awwwww! See, this is why your blog is one of the first things I check when I wake up in the morning. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful day :) The kids are adorable!!!

That is so great!! I think the kids are totally what makes Christmas so magical for adults! I know my kids do, and my hubby (RG) has grandkids 9which means by default they are mine!), and I now understand the excitement my parents and grandparents had in us at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful time!! :)
