PhotoWalk Part 2

The one thing when you go out with a group is everyone seems to take the same photos.  I am - always have been - the odd ball.  I do not want to do what every one else is doing........ I call it my "arty farty" side but it's more the non-conformist in me I think........

In this case I didn't take the familiar landmarks or landscape shots I went for the little forgotten bits.........

Also I should add I do not edit my pictures - no photoshopping - no punching up colours - or making the sky more dramatic..... what I see - what my camera sees - is what I post.

Kingston (for those of you who may not know) is known as the 'Limestone City' because it is built on limestone and most of the buildings are made from limestone....
One of the first office buildings we passed had this sign in their window.........

It actually said Limestone Mortgage Company - but I only needed/wanted the first word to describe our photowalk (well describe to me anyway)

When we were at the ferry pier everyone else was busy taking photos of the ferry and the bridge in the distance I was busy shooting these..............

 

 

and as we walked over to the Royal Military College (RMC for short) I was busy shooting contrasts (colours against the blue sky - the threatening sky - the horizon for as far as the eye could see)................

if you haven't  noticed by now Saturday was sunny with cloudy periods......... I loved the sharp contrast between the cloudy periods and the sunny periods... I am not sure I have ever appreciated the stark differences before ........... photography is teaching me to see the world around me differently....to appreciate it differently.

Tomorrow I will post pictures of our visit to RMC - which for those of you still referring to my map -  is basically in the middle of the map numbers 4 - 8.... our final destination so to speak.

Busy Weekend

Actually TOO busy a weekend........

After Saturday's Photowalk, on Sunday we had friends over to celebrate Thanksgiving (yup - Thanksgiving comes in October in Canada)

I made turkey with all the trimmings.............

and being me the table had to have some touches of the arty farty side of me.....and of course photos to satisfy the arty farty me.........

 A glass of wine - a late bedtime - and today finds me weepy - missing stuff that will never be again - and just feeling drained 

I promise tomorrow I will be myself again - and will post more photos from the "walk". 

 

Photo Walk Part 1 The Bridge

I know I said probably no pics till Monday - but hey I found 10 minutes (cheeky grin)

The walk was great fun.  I have to tell you - when I was leaving the house around 9 am - W said "if you get too tired call me and  I will come pick you up and drive you back to your car"..... Does that give you any idea how far we were walking???

I took over 100 pictures - don't panic!!  I am not gonna bore you with all 100  (well not in one post anyway - cheekier grin) AND I did the whole walk without having to use my "come rescue me" card.  (though I will admit I was exhausted when I got home)

I have put the map up again so you have a point of reference......... We started at #1 and walked to #2 and #3 - and then over the Bridge.

It is a drawbridge and has a lot of history around this city.  I won't bore you with the history but I will show you the photos I took of the bridge - on the bridge - around the bridge.

Big Day!

Well today is the BIG day !!  I am off to participate in the Worldwide Photowalk.  

I'll let you know how it goes and might even post some pictures from it (yeah like I wouldn't!!)  

Just got the map of our walking tour??!!!  

Dear god in heaven - am glad I have been working out at the gym!!  we are supposed to do ALL that in under 2 hours!!

BUT  don't expect anything before Monday.  Tomorrow we are celebrating Thanksgiving  and we are having another couple over to share it with us.

Under the desk

For some time now I have followed kaya's adventures "under the desk" (that is kaya of Under His Hand fame) while her Master perved porn on the computer............ 

Then this morning I read about another "under the desk" moment over on "And all I loved" written by K8
