Surprise!

 

I love gnomes!!  We added them a couple of years ago to our Christmas decor.

This little one sits on the corner of the coffee table

Then I bought a couple of cushion covers for the season

We added a new gnome this year (the tall one)

 

and some banners by the front door.......
 

So yeah I love gnomes!

Yesterday there was a package in the mail.  I was a little confused - we weren't expecting any packages.  I checked - no return address....... huh???
When I opened it there were some more gnomes - tree ornaments!!

AND I knew who sent them - youngest daughter!!
They soon found a spot on the tree

 

What a nice Christmas surprise!!

It's That Time of the Year

 It's that time of the year - The Continued Journey is decorated for the holidays :)  As I am out early today I thought I'd give you some Friday Christmas Fun.......... 

Lights they said - lots of lights......... 

Lessons I have learned...

 

 

Love our Lifestyle day (LOL) taught me some interesting lessons... 

On a blog or two over LOL day - I read with interest expectations of some bloggers....

- if you link a blog you expect to be linked back.

- if you comment you expect a response (even if you comment more than once on the same entry)

- if you comment on a blog you expect them to comment on your blog

(and apparently get butt hurt if these 'rules' aren't adhered to).

 

I have heard these 'rules' before........ had my wrist slapped more than once for not adhering to them...... but you see I tend to see things a little differently.  IF I comment on your blog it comes from my heart - it's not an obligation.  IF I answer a comment on my blog it's because I have something of relevance to say not an obligation.

I dunno know......... maybe I'm a bit weird - I prefer comments that are spontaneous not written because anyone feels obligated...... I prefer answers to my comments to be spontaneous and not because anyone feels obligated. 

But that's just me.

And so it begins.......

 

Well we had our 'tree decorating' party on Monday night. 

I had the pizza dough rising by the time the lil one came home from school and Sir Steve was under orders to come straight home from work - cause - tree decorating ya know!

I always get nostalgic when the ornaments come out.....

Here's one of my squirrel ornaments from my daughters - because you all know how much I love squirrels (NOT)

and there's the hand print snowman ornament the lil one made (with my help) for her dad four years ago.

A sentimental Hallmark style one I gave Sir Steve  

just so many memories.

Anyway.......... we got the tree decorated while the pizza cooked

Then we all curled up in front of the TV with our pizza and the movie "One Magic Christmas"

Christmas is a time for making memories......... and we do make memories !!
