Things to do - people to see - garden centers to visit (yeah yeah still working on the front garden - it is pathetic !)
But I had to share one picture with you all today.............
day 53 of 365
We went to the munch last evening - and then we all invaded vanilla Kingston (cheeky grin) in disguise of course as vanilla folk.............
Some of us had a new Canadian delicacy - Beaver Balls for dessert - yes you heard me right .... BEAVER BALLS!!
they were probably the BEST balls I have ever eaten (cheekiest grin)

This 'n That - not much of anything
First of all I want to wish all my readers who live south of the border a
HAPPY JULY 4th!!
We are spending the day waiting for the clean up crew - for the flooded basement - to return and either remove all their drying equipment or leave it for the weekend..... le sigh. Poor W is up to his eye teeth in paper work with the Insurance company..........
Tonight we have a munch to attend here in Kingston - to be honest my favourite munch of all the munches. And afterwards we are gonna take a walk to the Beaver Tail food truck and have dessert probably with most of the munch crew......
Yesterday it rained here.......... yeah I know I don't normally give weather forecasts - but there is a reason. Late in the afternoon when the insurance adjustor was sitting with W doing all that paper work..... I was outside having a smoke (yeah yeah I know - still haven't managed to fully quit).... and my eyes were drawn to my neighbour's bush and the water droplets on the leaves. I couldn't resist! So I grabbed my camera and did some work with the macro lens ............ Here's some of the best shots........

"Gonna get the spoon"
Remember those words??? "I am going to get THE spoon" My mom used to say that to my brother - honestly I don't think she ever threatened the spoon with me - truthfully (and don't choke) I was this meek and mild child who never broke the rules. But she sure did use it with my brother. Not that she ever actually GOT the spoon - at worst she would rattle the drawer it was in and everyone would head for the hills - including the dog.
I never thought the day would come when THE spoon would be used on me!! However W has found it easier to grab what is at hand and often times it is THE spoon.... a big white plastic spoon that has one helluva sting to it!
This morning while I was making my breakfast, W came into the kitchen and asked "what's happening" (or something like that) ............. and the brat answered "nothing's happening - absolutely nothing" (answered with a cheeky grin so we both know I am playing)
Out came THE spoon and I am laughing and dancing around, making excuses why this just isn't a good time for THE spoon....... like putting all the dinner plates away from the dishwasher while my toast toasts. Think that would EVER deter W?? not bloody likely.
Whack Whack Whack - and good lord I am doing the subbie dance cause that thing stings... with a capital 'S' !! And then like always - when we are playing and laughing and just enjoying the moment.... nightie up around my head - ass stuck out - my lower belly tingles - then starts to tighten and vibrate - and get all hot and bothered....... and before you know it - my body is shuddering and the muscles relax and my knees buckle..............
Sure gives a whole new meaning to "Gonna get the spoon"

Puddles and lakes
You won't believe what we have been dealing with for the last 48 hours (and still dealing with - if I am honest)
W had a new total home system put in the house for heating and cooling in the spring, On Monday W went into the crawl space (where this system is installed) to find some more train boxes AND the language that came out of that crawl space would curl your hair. I was shocked - I realized I honestly have never seen W REALLY pissed off.
The new system was leaking water all over the floor - and we now had a small swimming pool in the basement!!! He immediately called the company - who explained very nicely that they were over booked and couldn't possibly send anyone out for 24 hours!!! WTF???!! 24 hours of water filling the basement was not serious enough for them to send someone immediately????
So yesterday - Canada Day - when I would have loved to have W come with me to the parade - he was stuck at home waiting for the service guy. The service guy showed up as I was leaving for the parade - and the outcome from his visit - there was a part / or hadn't been installed properly or something. Now we have a big wet mess and the possibility of mold ........ughhhhhhh...and they are not coming back with any solutions to our clean up problem................
Anyway - that was the lake ........... the puddles came from me going to the Canada Day Parade. It was so hot here ... with very high humidity (I think it was near 40 Celsius or 104 Fahrenheit with the humidity. AND I just found out water boils at 40 celsius!!)
Kingston does a different type of parade - they call it a "People Parade". Everyone is encouraged to wear red and white and march in the parade. I had fun taking photos but was more than happy to beat it home to the air conditioning when it was over..........
So for your viewing pleasure - and day 50 of 365 here are some... SOME .... of the pictures I took.
The Town Crier opened / led the parade.........
My favourite theater group the Sir John A MacDonald troupe was there - honestly I think they are starting to believe I am stalking them ........
And then the people...... big and small .. young and old....... and even the animals/pets were included...............
hey Buffalo - I thought of you when I saw all the bikers - and my god there were a lot of them!!!

Anniversary
July 1st Canada Day
One year ago I arrived in Kingston - to join W - to start this new segment of our journey. I can't believe it has already been one year.........
Last year W and I went down to Confederation Park after dark to see the Canada Day Fireworks - my welcome to Kingston .... who else can brag that their city had fireworks to welcome them?? (cheeky grin)
Today I think I will go and find the parade and take some pictures......... especially of the Sir John A theater group. It seems I have become quite attached to them :)
As for the fireworks tonight - I kinda doubt it. It is supposed to rain most of today with thunderstorms tonight. (something has to break this horrendous humidity)
