I Believe

I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows

Check out my bucket list................. see the new addition??  It's something I should have done years ago - shrug - but I didn't.

Yesterday the urologist gave me a damn good reason to do it............. the mass in my bladder is cancer.......... probably caused by smoking. And it was too big to remove for biopsy.

I am going to be going back into hospital in May to have the mass removed and graded. In the mean time the doctor gave me some hope to hang on to............ it looks to him like a "superficial cancer" meaning it hasn't spread through the walls of the bladder.

After the operation in May - if all goes as expected - my urologist and I will truly get to know one another.  I will be going in for the test every 3 months - then if nothing reappears - every 6 months - then every year........... and so on for at least 5 years,

A friend (when she heard the news yesterday) dropped by to give me a hug.  She said "you will kick this cancer's ass" and that's what I intend to do.........

Cause I believe.........

  1. This may not be scientifically proveable, but its one of those things that really cannot hurt. I have a cousin who works with people who have diseases like cancer. She's a trained nurse, but uses techniques like massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, etc. to help improve the quality of life for her patients. One of the things she's noticed is that a positive attitude towards life - which is largely helped by having a stress free life, including treatments like the massage - do seem to help with regard to things like cancer. Its not the massage, or whatever, per se, but the general attitude - keeping more good hormones floating around your body than bad ones helps to fight it a bit. You're on the right track with your belief, but I think perhaps investigating stress reducing techniques, whatever they are, can only be good for you.

*hugggggggggggsss*... I am so sorry to hear about this cancer, but your friend is right. You can do it.

Keep believing!! You will totally kick this cancer. I have a friend your age who has the same type. From smoking also. He's male so his exams, etc... have to go through his penis. UGH! Painful! He has been successful for 2 years now following the routine you mentioned. Stay positive and visualize. Sending prayers and lots of hugs.
