The fine art of switching.....

Step one: collect some nice willow branches approximately 2 feet to 3 feet long

Step two: soak willow branches in nice warm water.. and let submissive stew in anticipation.....

please note .. willow branches float in water... i used a pumice stone to weight them down.....

Step 3: use willow branches on stewed submissive......

now here is where the problems started... i gritted my teeth and prepared for the first strike....strike one.. i looked back over my shoulder to see if Sir was deliberately going slow and easy...... He looked at me..... if i had to rate the strike - where 10 is worst and 1 is ho hum.. it would have been a 1.......... Sir put a little bit more behind the next swing... and Strike 2 rated ummmmm maybe a 3..... i looked at Sir.. Sir looked at me.. and we both looked a little confused........ Strike 3 4 5 and 6 actually made me do a little jig... Sir stopped to see how i was doing........ i said .. "it feels a little bit like the buggy whip.. stingy and ouchy.." and then i asked.. "are there any welts???" (it didn't feel like welt material.. but hey .. one never knows right??) Sir replied my ass looked pretty much like it usually does during a whipping.......... i sighed... We were both confused.. He said "maybe I am not doing it right" i repeated what Raheretic had said in the comment section...... and said that Sir was doing it exactly right........ i filled up with tears...... remember that vital ingredient of "having subbie stew in anticipation"?? well i had stewed a little too much i guess....

This is what my ass looked like following the switching...........

It wasn't a total waste .. tomorrow i will write about the rest of the session....

in the mean time a friend is going to find some more willow branches............... fresher might help??

First is it fair for the willow seitches to be used on your bottom on that butter cream covered hard ass. Poor things probably never knew what hit them.

Perhaps hickory or a birch might be better I mean the whole tree this time might give the tree the advantage.

Oh well at least you have your new cane to try Sir do have fun.

Not too bad... the marks wont show tomorrow, but at least you probably feel a little warmth there tonight...;-))

I suspect fresher switches are exactly the remedy. I've never used what is essentially a week old switch. Generally, I use switches that have just been cut and prepared or ones that were cut just few hours before and carefully maintained by soaking them.

Switches are not like implements like canes, for example. I have a wonderful rattan cane we've had a couple of years. It is as effective now as the day I bought it. Switches have a finite and brief shelf life.

Good switches likely do resemble a dressage whip, but will inflict far greater pain. I have used switches of a variety of woods. Willow, hickory, crepe myrtle, and birch are all reputed to be excellent, although I suspect in the spring, when the sap begins to run, green switches of just about all kinds can be excellent implements of flagellation.

If you are up for further experimentation tomorrow or in the future, I would suggest you go find really green, whippy, switches and bring them home and use them right away. Perhaps to add to the "percolation" factor you might add a paddling prior to the switch hunting expedition, and a paddling instead of a warm up hand spanking prior to the actual switching. I would think too that if you are finding this intensity not up to your usualy level of sensation, I'd apply the switch far more rapidly than I previously suggested. (I've done this with quite astisfactory results.....sue received her switching in a more rapid-fire fashion.) I also at times bind three switches together into a tri-tipped switch rod. I use duct tape for this wrapping around the hande end, and then maybe a foot from the handle and the last wrap maybe 14 to 18 inches from the switch tips. That too greatly intesnifies the efficacy of a good switching.

I feel sorry you were disappointed. I can promise you switching can in fact ceate an extremely intense edgy SM experience.

All the best:)

I hope this is helpful.

Raheretic....

I think I know what went wrong as I have just seen a couple of pictures of a birching scene and I think the switches that W/we used were too small and young...

I am going out and look for thicker ones..

But I truly want to thank You for all the teaching You are giving Me and I hope someday soon to return the favor.

Yeah, likley switches that are thicker at the handle end and in the shaft but still tapering down to a very thin pliable whippy end, and as green and pliable as possilbe, are likely what you want to select.

The best of luck:)
